Development and redevelopment opportunities abound in Commerce City. Annexation

Enterprise Zone Tax Credits
In order to encourage business growth and development within Enterprise Zones (EZ), the State makes available to all businesses in the EZ a variety of tax credits.
General Improvement District (GID)
The Northern Commerce City GID was established to provide the water and sewer infrastructure for all development in the Northern Range. Properties north of 88th & east of Highway 2 must belong to the GID in order to develop.

Metro Districts
Developers in Commerce City may create quasi-governmental Metropolitan Districts to pay for the infrastructure within their developments.

Residential Development
Housing development in the Northern Range is flourishing, with an estimated 38,460 residences to be established by 2010. While sizeable portions of the area have been claimed by developers to date, there continue to be many opportunities for new developers to the region.

Urban Renewal Authority
Commerce City has identified an Urban Renewal Area (URA) that covers a significant portion of the city's southern gateway up through the Wembley & Ivy-K properties. The purpose of the URA is to provide a mechanism to redevelop these areas, and a variety of tools are available to facilitate this goal.
